Henrich founded Neue Cosmetic in Los Angeles, originally focusing on haircare. That same year, both his wife Sarah in LA and a close friend in San Francisco were diagnosed with breast cancer. After radiation, they suffered from severe skin reactions—burns, dryness, itching, and inflammation.
Henrich collaborated with Sarah’s radiation oncologist at Cedars-Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center to develop a healing lotion. The key formula combined bio-activated aloe vera with molecularly modified lanolin—proven to outperform FGF in fibroblast repair.
Following clinical trials and successful recovery, Henrich and Sarah launched the brand Alra—named as a dedication to radiation care.

• 1994: Coping magazine shared Sarah’s recovery story and Alra’s medical origins.
• 1995: ADVANCE for Administrators in Radiology featured Alra's rapid product development and positive global reception, including use in Southeast Asia and Chernobyl-affected areas.

The NYT article “Cancer-Specific Products: An Unnecessary Balm?” featured Alra as a legacy radiation-care skincare line developed by Henry Ott.

• Northwestern Medicine (2009): Recommended Alra deodorant in their cancer care manual.
• University of Michigan (2010): Recommended Alra Therapy Lotion in patient handbooks.
